STEAM

Our STEAM programme combines Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Maths to foster the four C’s: Communication, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, and Creativity. During their full-day intensive STEAM session with our STEAM specialist Jamie, ākonga act as makers, creators, problem solvers, and innovators. They follow the engineering design process to ask questions, investigate possibilities, design solutions, and test and improve their models.
In our makerspace, students have access to a range of materials and technologies from paper and cardboard all the way through to 3D printers, 3D scanners, and vacuum formers to model their designs.
Tamariki also discover new methods for sharing their learning that they can then take back and use in their main classroom, such as Clips, Keynote, iMovie, Draw and Tell, and more. As we grow and expand, we are looking forward to adding woodworking, engraving, and circuitry to our curriculum offerings.
